Cube Root Corporation, as a subconsultant, served as the owner’s scheduling representative for the 100,000 SF D/E Connector project. Our mission centered on meticulous planning, scheduling, coordination, and reporting during construction.
Our services included vigilant monitoring of schedule submittals by contractors to ensure compliance with the critical path method. We scrutinized schedules for proper cost- and resource-loading to meet contract milestones, prevent acceleration, and mitigate liquidated damages.
We also evaluated written narratives accompanying schedule submissions, gaining insights into construction approaches, logic, calendars, expected weather delays, and obstacles tracked by contractors. Additionally, we assisted the client and contractors in handling schedule changes and monthly progress payments.
Our contributions were instrumental in providing the client with timely updates for informed decisions affecting other contractors, tenants, and airport operations.
The D/E Connector and security checkpoint program encompassed key elements, such as a new secure connector between Concourses D and E, reconfigured airline gates for additional international flights, a new security checkpoint serving domestic and international travelers, and renovation and widening of Concourse D’s “throat” to meet updated building code requirements.
The result, unveiled in November 2016, positioned airline gates and facilities to meet growing demand for international air service. Cube Root’s commitment to precision and excellence was central to this project, elevating every aspect of construction.
